On 2 November 2011, Dr Constanza Toninelli received the Caroline von Humboldt Prize.

The Physicist worked as a postdoc at ETH Zürich. She convinced the jury with her research project on photonics in nanostructures. She researches stable molecules that are embedded in semiconductor-nanostructures. In the context of the Caroline von Humboldt Prize, Dr Constanza Toninelli was integrated into Prof Dr Benson’s research group at the Institute of Physics at HU, in particular the Collaborative Research Centre (“Sonderforschungsbereich”) HIOS, as a “Scientist in Residence”.
